Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Rosemary Chartrand, 81, a resident of Davenport will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Her family will greet friends at church in the gathering space prior to mass from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Rosemary died unexpectedly Friday, July 13, 2012 at her home in Davenport.
Rosemary Meyer was born on October 16, 1930 in Alton, Illinois the daughter of Karl F. and Mary A. (Kirn) Meyer. She was united in marriage to Allen J. Chartrand on November 8, 1952. Rosemary had worked over 20 years in the Davenport School System, retiring in 1995.
Memorials may be made to Handicap Development Center.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Allen of Davenport and their children; Richard Chartrand, St. Louis, Thomas (Sue) Chartrand, Wauwatosa, WI, Barbara M. (Allan) Metz, Terry (Julie) Chartrand, all of Davenport, Patrick (Kate) Chartrand, Sussex, WI, Maureen (Steve) Marshall, Madison, WI, and Kathleen (David) Kallemyn, Carlisle, IA; grandchildren; Karen (Michael) Cooney and their son, Seth, Denise (fiancé, Jayson Hoteling) Metz, and Jayson's son, Maxwell, Andrew, Hannah, Claire, Ashley, Sydney, Daniel, Sarah Chartrand, Maggie and Walter Marshall, and Ty and Trae Kallemyn; her siblings; 2 sisters, Dorothy (Anthony) Budlong, Carmel, CA, and Shirley (Ray) Knorpp, St. Louis; 5 brothers, Hubert Meyer, Wilbert "Bill" Meyer, Francis (Betty) Meyer, Edward (Joan) Meyer all of St. Louis and Raymond Meyer of California; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Meyer, St. Louis; as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Joseph, her son Timothy and a brother Adolph.
