Ross Green, 82, of Dade City, Florida, died June 13, 2011 at The Florida Hospital Zephyrhills.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, he lived in Dade City for 13 years, coming from Port St. Lucie, Florida. He had been a Florida resident for 56 years coming from Columbus.
Before retiring, he was a salesman and architectural designer for Nova Construction Corporation and had been vice-president and sales manager for Royal Custom Builder.
He was a former member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie. He was former Lt. Governor of the Florida State Optimist Clubs, Past Distinguished President of the High Noon Optimist Club in Miami and had been the Master of Ceremonies for the Southeast Florida Optimists Beauty Pageant. He also was the Master of Ceremonies for the largest youth parade in America, held in Dade County. He worked for many years in community service work as the Entertainment Director for elementary school children and judged many local and state beauty pageants.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Harvey Green of Dade City; daughters Terry Green, Vicki Lowry and Kelli Burgess all of Port St. Lucie, stepdaughters, Jean Harvey of Enfield, New Hampshire, Jennifer Gobeille of Sharon, Vermont, Joyce Harvey of Grafton, New Hampshire and Jessie Stark of Cannon, New Hampshire; stepson, John Harvey of South Berwick, Maine; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Janice Green in 1992.
SERVICES: Visitation will be for 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on June 16, 2011 at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Byrd, Young and Prill Chapel, Port St. Lucie with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on June 17, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church.
