HANSON, ROY L."Stub"Roy L. Hanson, age 74, of Menasha, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Roy was born on March 25, 1935, in Menasha to the late Frederick and Loretta (Zeininger) Hanson. He married Darlene Charrier on February 16, 1957, in Neenah. Prior to his retirement, Roy spent most of his working career as a salesman in the roofing and siding business with his last position as Branch Manager for Milwaukee Insulation in Appleton. Roy enjoyed the out of doors and nature; he especially enjoyed fishing, feeding the birds and tending to his roses. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Darlene; his children, Corky (Brian) Bartelt, Fond du Lac; Tim (Judy) Hanson, Fond du Lac; Barb (Dan) Jensen, Menasha; and Missy (Jim) Grones, Antigo; his grandchildren, Jenny and Shawn Bartelt; A.J. and Parker Hanson; Taylor and Ryan Jensen; and Justin and Lindsey Grones; and his brothers, Gene (Audre) Hanson, Stockbridge and Tom Hanson, Menasha. He is further survived by his brothers-in-law, Jack (Ann) Ellis and Bob Haddock; his sister-in-law, Marcie (Paul) DeBruin, and many other relatives and friends. Roy was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Lorraine Haddock. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2009, at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 E. Lourdes Drive, Appleton, with Fr. Don Zuleger officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Menasha. A memorial has been established in Roy's name. Roy's entire family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the entire staff at Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology Clinic, especially Dr. Timothy Goggins; and the very special caregivers on 4 West and 4 South at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
