GASTON - Funeral service for Roy Marvin Davis, 79, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2012, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Davis died Thursday, February 2, 2012. Born July 12, 1932 in Richmond, MO, he was a son of the late Roy H. Davis and Edna Irene Dingus. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Once retired from being self-employed most of his life, Mr. Davis worked for Lexington County. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Gaston.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Earlie Mae Rabon Davis; daughters, Carla Bell (Mike) of Gaston, Renee Farrand (Scott) of Irmo; grandchildren, Jade Doar, Roy Farrand, Emory Farrand; sister, Majorie Nolker. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, William Davis, Edward Davis; two sisters, Dorothy Bowman, Margaret Franklin; and one infant daughter, Andrea Faye Davis.
