MILLERSBURG- Rozella J. Silks, age 84, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence in Harrisburg. She was born in Hegins, PA, the daughter of the late Allison and Hulda Paul Erdman. She was retired from PennDOT and before that had worked at the former Muskin shoe factory in Millersburg. She was an award winning quilter and crocheter and an avid traveler and skilled card player. She was a member of Grace UM Church in Millersburg and Millersburg Senior center. Rozella was a loving Mother, Grandmother and faithful friend and served the Lord with gladness. She was the widow of Richard M. Silks and also preceded in death by a daughter Diane Silks Poffenberger and a brother Blair Erdman. Surviving are three daughters Dawn Reese Leer and husband Phil of Millersburg, Darla Heyne and husband Marty of Shrewsbury, Dana Hepner and husband Kevin of Millersburg, six grandchildren David Poffenberger, Danelle Daniels, Daniel Reese, Jr., Nicole Green, Tyler Silks and Mason Heyne, seven great grandchildren Morgan, Austin, Josiah, Samantha, Ashlyn, Rozella and Lyra, and her companion cat Chloe. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 23, 2011 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at Grace UM Church 982 Medical Road in Millersburg. Services will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Halifax. Donations can be made to Hospice of Central PA 1320 Linglestown Road Harrisburg, PA 17110.
