Ruben Alvin Gibson was born November 4, 1925 in Ft. Towson, OK, the son of Carl Gibson and Ethel (Cox) Gibson and grew up in the Ft. Towson area before moving to Garland, TX for over 30 years and returning back to his childhood area in 1985.
Ruben was a WWII veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed piddling and making wooden toys for his grandchildren such as baseball bats. He was a great husband of over 64 years, wonderful father and a loving grandfather and great-grandfather. The word "no" was not in his vocabulary for his grandchildren.
Ruben was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, C.D. Gibson and Ray Gibson along with two nephews, Randy Gibson and Larry Gibson.
Survivors Include: wife, Vivian (Stone) Gibson of Ft. Towson, OK; three daughters, Peggy Kemp and husband, Fred of Hugo, OK, Debby Horn and husband, Randy of Ft. Towson, OK and Sherri Cordova and husband, Cosme of Sachse, TX; two brothers, Wayne Lee Gibson and wife, Molly of Lewisville, TX and John Loyd Gibson and wife, Diane of Oak Cliff, TX; 5 grandchildren, Chad Williams and wife, Regina of Arlington, TX, Toby Williams and wife, Kristen of Hugo, OK, Sean Cordova of Sachse, TX, Anthony Cordova also of Sachse, TX and Misti Wren and husband, Daniel of Spring Hill, TN; 7 great grandchildren, Chloe Berkey, Jackson Wren, Trent Williams, Blakley Williams, Cash Williams, Landry Williams and Brinley Williams along with a host of other family and friends.
