RUBEN LAWRENCE ADKINS, JR.
Ruben Lawrence Adkins, Jr, 35, of Beckley, went home to be with the Lord on October 4, 2011.
Ruben was born July 16, 1976; he is the son of Ruben Lawrence Adkins, Sr. and Mary Catherine (Smith) Adkins of Beckley. Other than his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Colton Lee Adkins and Cody Fisher Adkins; his sister, Tamra Ann Jones and husband, Jimmy Jones of Beckley; a niece, Deanna Jean Jones; a nephew, Jimmy Dale Jones; a great niece, Elena Brayleigh; a special friend, Pam Jennings, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Ruben was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William Fisher Smith, Jr. and Alma Eva (Stump) Smith and paternal grandparents, Lonnie Lawrence Adkins and Nina C. (Ewing) Adkins; and an infant sister, Dianna Jean Adkins.
Ruben loved spending time with his boys, hunting, fishing, and riding 4-wheelers and motorcycles. He was a loving and caring person who was very kind hearted and will be forever missed and loved.
Services will be 3:00PM Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Roger E. Pauley officiating. Following the services Ruben will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Andy Wills, Jackie Lee Adkins, Kenny Wayne Adkins, Dave Blackburn, Jason Buckland, and Steve Cooper will be serving as pallbearers.
Friends may gather with the family from 1:00PM until time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
