Ruby Brown May 26, 1918 - November 30, 2011 Ruby Belle Brown of Waco passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at her residence. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 2, at Waco Memorial Park with Chaplain Larry Holder officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Ruby was born May 26, 1918 in Deport, Texas, the 10th of 11 children to William and Novel (Eudy) Garner. She moved to Waco as a youngster and attended Waco Schools. She worked for Dr. Hanks and later worked 25 years for Dr. Neil Simpson as his lab nurse. She married Roy Lee Brown on August 8, 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy, in 2002; son-in-law, Donald Chisholm in 2006; and a great granddaughter, Kerrie Chisholm; and ten siblings. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Dorothy Chisholm of Waco; five grandchildren, Jim Chisholm and wife, Terri; Robert Chisholm and partner, Maggie; Scott Smith and wife, Trish; Donna Unger and husband, Bobby; and Judy Rayvon; nine great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She loved her Lord and was a very devoted Christian and will be missed by all who knew her. Thanks to Scott and White Hospice at Hillcrest. Special thanks to her granddaughter, Judy, who was her hospice nurse, and to Debbie, Shirley, Martha and Mary Beth for their excellent care and companionship. In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to Scott and White Hospice at Hillcrest, 3000 Herring Avenue, Waco, TX 76708 or your favorite charity.
