Ruby Gunderson, 91, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Gateway Regional Medical Center, Granite City, IL. Ruby was born on January 25, 1921, in New Haven, IL, a daughter to the late Henry and Margaret (Kilgore) Foster. Ruby was a member of Nameoki United Methodist Church, Granite City, IL. On August 28, 1937 she married Harold S. Gunderson, the love of her life in St. Charles, MO, and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting and cross stitching; her greatest joy was taking care of her family, who she cherished. In addition to her loving husband and parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her children, Gene Gunderson, Loyal Gunderson, Elaine Grayson and in infancy, Jeannette Gunderson; grandson, Michael Gunderson and many sibilings. Ruby is survived by four wonderful grandchildren, Eric (Dawn) Gunderson of Granite City, IL, Dane Gunderson of Granite City, IL, Dan (Katie) Grayson of Granite City, IL and Becky (Brian) Wilgus of Glen Carbon, IL; ten adoring great grandchildren. Visitation: Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Rd. Granite City, IL. In celebration of her life, Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Irwin Chapel. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Nameoki Rd. Granite City.
