Ruby Marie Guidry Hotard, 84
Long time New Orleans resident, died January 27, 2012 from complications of Diabetes.
Mrs. Hotard was born July 26, 1927 in Bayou Blue near Thibodaux, Louisiana to Nettie
and Armand Guidry.
She was an accomplished author. Her book, A Life Gone By is still in print.
She is survived by her husband, Wilfred Hotard, her sons Gary and Glen, granddaughters Jennifer Magness, Jessica Piedescalso, Heather and Caitlin Hotard and grandson Nathan Hotard, great grandchildren Hailey and Jordan Magness, Taylor and Christopher Piedescalso, and Brook-Lynn Reed. She is also survived by daughter-in-law Pam Hotard and sons-in law Derek Magness and Christopher Piedescalso, nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Glenda Lee, her sisters Edith Naquin, Edna
Duplessis, Pearl Benoit, Effie Fields, Gladys Dover, Verna Legandre, and her brother James Guidry.
She was an author, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
