Message from the Family

Aunt Ruby was a great supporter of Autism Speaks. Her great great nephew, Brock Hurla, was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 22 months. We greatly appreciate your contribution.

RUBY FOSTER, Independence, MO (formally of Liberty), passed away on August 30, 2011. She was born July 6, 1922 to Alta Miller and Hattie Mae (Pfeisterer) Foster. Ruby was a lifetime, active member of Pleasant Hill, Nebo Baptist church in Liberty. She retired from the Independence School District after over 30 years of service. Ruby was a 50 year breast cancer survivor. She was preceded in death by both her parents, sister Opal Taylor, and brother Glenn Foster. Although she never married, she is survived and loved by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the chaplains, doctors, nurses and staff of North Care Hospice for all they did over the past year to help her stay in her own home and to make her comfortable during her illness. She always looked forward to seeing her nurses and her special bath lady, Sherrie. As Ruby was a strong supporter of Autism Speaks, the family asks for donations in her name in lieu of flowers, to Autism Speaks. You can donate online directly to Autism Speaks in New York or send donations Connie Savage, 1025 Bunting Lane, Liberty, MO 64068. Donations will be delivered at the Autism Speaks Walk at the Kansas Speedway on September 24th.
