Russell Ray, age 85, of Benton, KY, died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton, KY. Ray was a retired tool and die maker from U.S.E.C.. Mr. Ray was a U.S. Marine who fought in the Pacific Theatre in WWII. He was a Marine bomber co-pilot.

He was the son of the late Cordie Ray and the late Lona Ray. He was also preceded in death by two brothers Robert Ray and Homer Ray, and one sister Louise Ray Gordon.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY. Funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 8, 2008, with Bob Cain officiating. Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the Collier Funeral Home Benton, KY. Interment will be at Woodson Chapel Cemetery, LBL. The American Legion Post 236 of Calvert City will perform honor guard at the cemetery.
