RUSSELL REDDOCH, Cmdr, USN (Retired) of Little Rock, passed away on January 11, 2012 at the age of 69. Russ was born Nov. 29, 1942 in New York to the late Edwin Arcus and Belle Reddoch. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife Barbara.

He is survived by his son Jay Reddoch of Columbus, OH, his daughter Miriam Reddoch and her husband Joseph Duncan of Houston, TX, along with a host of friends and extended family.

Russ retired as a Commander from the U.S. Navy after serving for more than 26 years. One of his roles was to run the nuclear power plant on an aircraft carrier. After retiring from the Navy, he worked as a college professor and an operations analysis consultant. Russ was an avid reader. He used his knowledge to teach his friends and those around him, even outside the classroom.

Russ grew up in New York. He earned his masters degree from University of Wisconsin - Madison. After moving around with the Navy, Russ settled in Little Rock for nearly 20 years, prior to his passing.

Russ was very involved in the local community and active in many organizations. He was passionate about his long time memberships in Toastmasters, Rotary and Mensa, where he held leadership positions over the years. He was a strong supporter of the Boy Scouts, the Republican party and the NRA. Russ also regularly attended services and events at synagogue Agudath Achim and Chabad Lubavitch of Arkansas. He was always willing to help make a "minyan".

A graveside service was held January 12, 2012 at Mt Hebron Cemetery in New York. A memorial service will be held in Little Rock at a later date.
