Ruth D. Uhrich, age 80, of Ft. Collins, went home to be with the Lord on April 15, 2011. She died at home under Hospice care, her family at her side, following a courageous battle with cancer. Ruth was born April 1, 1931 in Greeley, CO., to Frank and Irene (Sappington) Chesnut and grew up in the Kersey area. On April 3, 1949, Ruth married John W. Uhrich in Golden, CO. John passed away in November of 1987. Ruth enjoyed many years working for Poudre R1 school district and retired in 1998 as a receptionist for Woodward Governor Co. in Loveland, CO. Ruth loved gardening, bowling, horseshoes, refinishing antiques, decorating and most of all, her grandchildren. She was involved in numerous service organizations over the years, the most recent being Quota Club. Ruth had a true love for philanthropic service as well as the club members who became close friends. Ruth was a member of Timberline Church in Ft. Collins. Following her retirement, Ruth discovered a love for traveling, especially cruise line tours. She was able to enjoy numerous cruise line tours, as well as state side travel. Traveling east and spending time with her Virginia grandchildren was a special treat. Her Colorado grandsons were blessed to be able to enjoy her fun spirit on a regular basis. Ruth's love for her children, grandchildren, friends, family and travel were only part of the joyful fulfillment of her life. Ruth is survived by her son Johnathan (Sharon, his special lady) of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Debi (Steve) Sauer and grandsons Erich of Boulder, CO and Geoffrey of Milliken, CO; Judy (Mike) Danaher and grandchildren Sarah, Peter, Amie, Taylor, Carter, Sean, Colin, Elsie Ruth, and Jedidiah of Fredericksburg, VA; sisters Lois Ann (Bob) Onorato of Milliken, CO; Twyla Wertz of Ft. Morgan, CO ; and Nancy (Marvin) Lynch of Encampment, WY and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, four brothers and three sisters. Memorial contributions can be made to Larimer County Food Bank or Boys and Girls Club of Larimer County. A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at 11am, Wednesday, April 20, 2011. at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 8426 S. Hwy 287 in Ft. Collins, CO
