HALIFAX- Ruth Elizabeth Greider , 93, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 20, 2011. Born June 13, 1918 in Highspire, PA she was the daughter of the late Galen L., and Susan F. (Miller) Deibler. She graduated from Halifax High School in 1935 and was a member of the Fisherville Messiah Lutheran Church. Ruth had a lifelong love of reading and was happiest when surrounded by her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Greider in 1991. Surviving are her husband, Grant G. Greider, to whom she was married for 75 years, daughter Sandra Swanson and husband John of Littleton, CO, son Grant G. Greider Jr and wife Kathy of Hilton Head, SC, daughter Judy Vallier and husband Larry of Halifax, son Randy Greider and wife Debbie of Halifax, son Douglas Greider and wife Penny of Elizabethtown, and daughter-in-law Norma Greider of Carlisle. In addition , she is survived by thirteen grandchildren , seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Naomi Rogers of Rockville, MD. The family will receive friends Monday, October 24 , 2011 from 10-11 AM at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Inc. in Elizabethville, with the services starting at 11:00 AM. Rev. Hackett presiding. Burial to follow at Millers Church Cemetery in Halifax. Memorial donations can be made to Messiah Lutheran Church , 3 Church Road Halifax, PA 17032.
