Mrs. Ruth (Ackles) Malm, a resident of Melrose, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was 85 years of age.

Ruth was born on September 21, 1925 in Boston, one of four children of the late John D. and Helena A. (Newcombe) Ackles. She graduated from Franklin Technical Institute in Boston and also from Bentley College. Ruth was a member of the Green Street Baptist Church, Melrose Historical Society, Massachusetts American Baptist Historical Society and the Historical Society of Parrsborough Shore in Nova Scotia.

She was the beloved wife of the late Norman A. Malm with whom she shared 40 years of marriage. Devoted mother of Dr. Kenneth V. Malm and his wife Cindy of Bolton, CT and A. David Malm and his wife Martha of Mooresville, IN. Dear sister of the late Jack A. Ackles, Kenneth V. Ackles and Carroll B. Ackles. Cherished grandmother of Sarah, Anna and Joseph Malm.

Funeral Service to celebrate her life will be held at the Green Street Baptist Church, 179 Green St, Melrose on Wednesday, March 16 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St, Melrose on Tuesday from 5-7 PM. Interment in Central Cemetery, Middleborough.
