The Obituary Ruth Mildred-Kilpatrick Jones was born into time on February 18, 1927, in Leechburg, PA to the late William Kilpatrick and Azalee Means. Born to this union were seven children, four brothers and two sisters, Mother Ruth being the youngest of her siblings made the perfect 7th which is God's number she was truly a Blessing sent from God. Mother Ruth was Baptized at the age of fifteen, from Second Baptist Church of Leechburg, PA. She was also educated in the Leechburg, PA School System where she graduated from high school in the year of 1947, Mother Ruth later was given in holy matrimony to James H. Jones. This union was blessed with three children. Ruth Kilpatrick-Jones was loved and respected by many, a true no nonsense woman of God, firm but Loving, Gentle but knew how to handle her business at all cost. Her family was always first. She was Faithful and Sincere in her community. Mother's motto was give and it shall be given back to you. It was a Blessing to be in her company. One of her favorite hobbies was sewing, which blessed her with a position as a seamstress at the Quartermasters-Defense Support Center of Philadelphia, PA. Mother Ruth retired in the year of 1989. Some of her other hobbies were Music and Dance. She listened to Louise Williams every Sunday morning. One of her favorite songs was "Nearer my God to Thee". A song that was sang to her during a time of rest at home by one of her dear friends. Ruth also loved the sounds of Motown. The Temptations were one of her favorite male singing groups. A group that we all could relate to, because the songs came straight from the heart. When there is time to reflect on this lady of Love, you could really say I had sunshine on a cloudy day. When it was cold outside, Mother Ruth made you feel like it was the month of May. I guess we all can say who's this lady that made us feel this way? Ruth was preceded in death by her husband James H. Jones, two sons Michael A. Jones of Philadelphia, PA and Chester E. Jones of Buchannan, Va. She leaves to mourn her one daughter, Roslyn Jones of Philadelphia, PA; five grandchildren, James Edwards, Kenneth Jones, Iris Pooler, Shanda Jones, and Michel'a Jones; and a host of Great-grandchildren, Great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. To God be the Glory!
