Ruth "Reina" Woods, age 62, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM, died of pulmonary fibrosis Monday, December 19, 2011 with her family by her side. She is survived by her daughter, Linda C. Gruber; son, Jason Woods and fiancée, Misty Montgomery; granddaughters, Heather Gruber, Melanie Gruber, and Victoria Rose Lopez; mother, June Gonzales; siblings, Victor Michael Gonzales, Barbara Fanning and husband, Tom, Lorraine Wright, and Emmett Gonzales and wife, Mona; her companion, Raymond Garcia; nieces and nephews, Victoria Gonzales, Dax Gonzales and wife, Jennifer, Samantha Madrid and husband, Tommy, Luis Wright, June Wright, and Richard, Adam, Victor, Daniel, and Gabriel Gonzales; great-nieces and nephews, Mariah Madrid, Lucas Wright, Dax Aaron Gonzales, Tommy Madrid III, and MiBella Ochoa; and numerous other loving relatives and friends. Reina was preceded in death by her father, Luis M. Gonzales. She was born in 1949 in Albuquerque, NM and graduated from Albuquerque High School, Class of 1967. She was a devout Catholic and the Regent of Catholic Daughters of America, Court Santa Maria. Reina was an accomplished seamstress, very artistic, and found much enjoyment in making many different hand-made crafts. Reina found much joy in helping with Catechism at Immaculate Conception Church, of which she was a life-time member. She was a kind, gentle, loving, forgiving, and un-judgmental person and was a blessing to her entire family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends may visit French - University Chapel, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave. NW, at 10:45 a.m. with cremation to follow. Pallbearers will be Jason Woods, Victor Gonzales, Emmett Gonzales, Tom Fanning, Heather Gruber, and Melanie Gruber. Honorary Pallbearers will be Raymond Garcia and Tommy Madrid. Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
