Ruth T. Clevenger

Ruth T. Clevenger, Liberty, Missouri passed away November 24, 2007 at Ashton Court Care Center after a brief illness. Ruth was born in Missouri City, Missouri to John and Bessie Temple. She was a lifelong resident of Clay County. Ruth received her teaching degree from Central Missouri State University. She taught elementary school for over 30 years in both Missouri City and Kearney School Districts and retired in 1980. She was affectionately known to her students as Miss Ruth. Ruth loved bowling, walking, play cards and she was an avid sports fan. She was organist at the Missouri City Christian Church before she moved to Liberty. Ruth was a member of Liberty Christian Church where she was a Deacon Emeritus. She was a charter member of Missouri City Eastern Star Chapter. Ruth enjoyed her membership in the Recess Forever teachers group. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Clevenger and brother Charles E. Bud Temple. Survivors include a daughter, Sue Clevenger and spouse Larry of Lees Summit and a son, John Clevenger of the home and a grandson, Zachary Clevenger and wife Elva of North Kansas City, Missouri.
