Sabina Josephine "Sally" Pacek was born October 31, 1916 in Evanston, Illinois; to Julius & Sophie Janicki and journeyed to her Lord's house on Sunday, Sept 18, 2011, at the age of 94 years. Preceding her in death was a daughter, Geraldine Leschner; Ernest Leschner (husband); Stanley Pacek (husband); three sisters and two brothers. Survived by daughter, Nancy (Bill) Bauder of Cottonwood, and grandsons: James (Paula) Clesen of Geneva, Illinois, Don (Sherri) Bauder of Cottonwood, and Douglas (Kirstin) Bauder of Cortland, Illinois and four great-grandchildren. Sister; Hedwig Kuczek of Arlington Heights, Il Sally worked as a drapery seamstress and caregiver prior to moving to Cottonwood in 2003. Sally volunteered her time in many nursing homes in Illinois and at "Infinia", in Cottonwood. She was a "Minister of Care" at her two parish churches in Illinois. Sally was a member of Immaculate Conception's Travelling Rosary Group and a 59-year breast cancer survivor and member of the Happy Huggers (Cottonwood) She served mankind with her kindness, charity and good sense of humor. She will be missed by the many people she had touched with her true blue eyes and friendly manner. A Farwell Gathering at Westcott Funeral Home on Mingus Avenue, Cottonwood on Sept 23 (Friday) at 9:30 A.M.; followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Parish Church. Interment will be in Niles, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, a remembrance in her name to the House of Ruth or the Building Fund at Immaculate Conception Parish, 700 N. Bill Gray Road, Cottonwood.
