Samuel D. Williams was born on May 7, 1947 to the late James and Thelma Williams in Smithfield, North Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on August 10, 2013. Samuel was educated through the Smithfield Public School System. At the age of eighteen he moved to New Jersey and made it his home. He was employed at United Hospital as an Emergency Medical Technician and later at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson, New Jersey as a Phlebotomist. He met and married Gwendolyn "Cissy" Bass and from this union two children were born. Sam was a kind hearted person. He easily made friends everywhere. He loved laughing, joking and talking with people. He was affectionately called "Poppa Sam" by his nieces and nephews. He took care of those he loved and was a real family man. He could always make you laugh and that is something his wife enjoyed about him. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Gwen (Cissy); his sons, Michael and James; his daughter, La-Toya; his sister, Deloris; his brother-in-law, James; his daughter-in-law, Jameelah; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. This Online Memorial has been created to commemorate the life of Samuel Williams. You are invited to add a Tribute in his memory.
