Samuel H. "Sonny" James, 75, of Broadnax, VA, passed away September 13, 2010, in Chesapeake, VA. A native of Buhl, VA, he was the son of the late Matthew and Margaret James. He was a retired Chassis Supervisor with Ford Motor Company. He was a member of the United Auto Workers and an Air Force veteran. He is survived by three daughters, Teresa J. Kinsey of Currituck, NC, Tammy J. McGuigan and husband John of Camden, NC and Tuesday J. Chitwood and husband Bobby of Chesapeake, VA; a brother, Billy R. James of Texas; eight grandchildren, Terry, Walter, Crystal, William, John, Danny, Travis, and Ashley; and nine great grandchildren, Amy, Terry, Carly, Caleb, Seth, Cheyenne, Skyler, Hayden, and Braylen. He was predeceased by a sister, Peggy J. West; and two grandchildren, Jerry and Amy. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel with Pastor Tom Thomasson officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. The burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society.
