Samuel R. Larkin, 92, of South Bend, passed away Thursday November 25, 2010 in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross.
He was born on July 16, 1918, in South Bend, to the late Robert and Pearl (Heltzel) Larkin.
On December 20, 1941, he married Madelyn M. (Deardorff), who survives.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughter, LeeAnn (Neal Allsop) Benson of South Bend; his son, Sam (Nancy) Larkin of Plymouth; three grandchildren, Todd Benson and Tracie Fulmer, both of South Bend; and Brent Larkin of Indianapolis, IN; eight great-grandchildren, Tara Blair, Derek Fulmer, Brittany, Pachia and Dallas Benson, Luke, Lily and Lyssa Larkin; and one great-great grandchild, Blake Blair.
Mr. Larkin worked at the former Studebaker Corporation for many years and retired from the South Bend Parks Department.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved his family dearly.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am Saturday December 4, 2010, in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend.
Kaniewski Funeral Homes, South Bend, is handling the arrangements.
