Samuel Larry Roberts, age 74 of Payson, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011 in the arms of his loving wife and surrounded by other family members.

He was born July 24, 1936 in Beaver, Utah to Donald and Mae LaPreal Lee Roberts. He married the love of his life, Ernadene McClellan, May 16, 1982. They made their home in Payson where he enjoyed horses, dogs and his many friends. He served as Lion’s Club President in Payson. He enjoyed his meeting with the “Breakfast Bunch” at the Conoco in Santaquin each morning. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 43 years of service. He and his wife enjoyed spending February in Arizona and their many cruises, especially Alaska to Australia.

Survivors include: his wife; step-children, Gary (Tammy) York, Brent (Jane) York, all of Payson; Jane Ann Stallings, St. George; his children, Kirk (Cindy) Roberts; Bonnie (Steve) Allen; Janet Roberts; Darrin (Mindy) Roberts; Kristine (Craig) Johnson; he was a wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren; siblings, Irene (Blaine) Thompson, Holladay; Jack (Mary) Roberts, Denver. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his parents-in-law, Ernest and Twyla McClellan; a brother, David Clark Roberts; a grandson, Larry Paul; son-in-law, Kelly Stallings.

Graveside services will be Friday, June 3, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at the Payson City Cemetery, 805 East 400 North. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Friday, 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
