Celebration of Life Services for Sandra Jo "Sandi" Russell, 58, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa, will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at Edwards Congregational Church, 3420 Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport; Visitation will be Tuesday, December 1, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Sandi was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, surrounded by her loving family and many special friends.
Sandra Jo DePover was born May 28, 1951 in Davenport, the daughter of Howard and Jeraldine (Hahn) DePover. She was a 1969 graduate from Davenport Central High School and attended Scott Community College. Sandi was employed at St. Ambrose University Food Service Division and Cascade Lumber Company, Eldridge, Iowa.
Sandi was a member of Edwards Congregational United Church and life member of Genesis Medical Auxiliary. Her grandchildren were the love of her life and she cherished their moments together.
Memorials may be made to Gilda's Club or Edwards Congregational Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Carsten (Brian), McCausland, IA, and Trisha Lusso (John), New Franken, WI, grandchildren, Emily Jo "Emmybug" Lusso, Kyle Carsten, Kayelynn "Queenie" Carsten and Jayce "Cowboy" Carsten, sisters, Judy Johnson, Apache Junction AZ., and Jackie Anderson, Davenport and her father, Howard DePover, Moline.
Sandi was preceded in death by her son, Bradley Russell, 1986, her mother Jeraldine Engvall and a brother in law, David Johnson.
