Sara Belle Beckham Price 82, left this life on January 3, 2012 in Winter Park, FL at the Vitas Hospice in-patient facility to join her late husband, Benjamin E. Price, Sr. who passed away almost exactly one year before. Until her recent hospitalization Mrs. Price lived at Gracious Age Assisted Living in Sanford, FL. She was a loving mother and devoted wife who became a career woman working in the office of Harry F. Beckham, Jr. Painting, Inc. and jointly owning with her husband, Price & Price Painting, Inc. A long time Longwood-area resident, Mrs. Price graduated from Lyman High School in 1947 and married August 1st that same year.
She was born in Sanford, FL to Harry Franklin Beckham and Ruth Evangeline Smith Beckham Muhaluk. She was the middle child of 5. Lois Aline Beckham Eck Whitehurst and Frank Hudson Beckham are deceased. She is survived by younger siblings Harry F. Beckham, Jr. and (Nancy) Jean Beckham Skidmore.
Mrs. Price has two sons. Benjamin E. "Woody" Price, Jr. and his wife Pamela Natale Price live in Tallahassee, FL and their daughter, Natasha S. Price Stark lives with her family in Decatur, GA. Robert Alan Price, a widower, of Atlanta, GA, has three sons, Philip Alan Price and his family reside in Sharpsburg, GA, while Dominic Christopher Price has his home in Marietta, GA and Chad Jason Price lives in Cartersville, GA. In total there are 8 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mrs. Price's younger brother (and long time employer) Harry F. Beckham, Jr. lives with his wife, Linda Hardy Beckham in Altamonte Springs, FL. His three children, William Scot Beckham and his family, Greg Alan Beckham and Lisa Kay Beckham all live nearby. The childrens' mother, Katherine Blanche "Kay" DeMilley Beckham lives in DeBary, FL.
Mrs. Price's younger sister, (Nancy) Jean Beckham Skidmore was formerly office administrator for Price & Price Painting and lives in Orlando with her husband Ronald James Skidmore. Their three children, Kathy Lynn Skidmore Lipsey and her family live in Tampa, FL, Tammy S. Skidmore and David W. Skidmore live in Orlando.
Eldest sister Lois Aline Eck Whitehurst has 4 children, Richard Charles Eck, Sr. of Beaverdam, VA, Ruth Aline Eck Brownley of Gloucester, VA, Terry Edward Eck of Scurry, TX, and Thomas Michael Whitehurst of Grandview, TX.
Price & Price Painting, Inc. worked on projects throughout the Central Florida area including schools, hospitals, commercial/office/industrial buildings and apartments as well as utilities. The company was renowned for efficient operations and expert craftsmanship recognized with numerous awards.
The family is holding a visitation at the Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, West Altamonte Chapel, 90 Weathersfield Avenue, Altamonte Springs, FL, 32714, 407-869-6065 on Thursday, January 12, 2011 from 500PM to 700PM. Fletcher Ave., Tampa, FL 33613, Attn: Holly Lisle, for use by the University of South FL in developing and providing cures for this dreadful disease. You may request a receipt for tax purposes.
The family would like to recognize and thank her caregivers at Gracious Age Assisted Living, Healthcare & Rehab of Sanford, LLC, and Vitas Hospice for assuring Mrs. Price's comfort and dignity. In particular, Chaplain Nancy Rusk of Vitas has been a blessing for all. A special thank you is extended to Ms. Peggy Powell, RN,CDMS,CCM,CLCP, her private medical case manager of the firm Rehabilitation Case Management, Inc. of Miami, FL. Dr. Vinay Srivastava, Sanford, FL, has been an extraordinary physician for Mr. and Mrs. Price. Mrs. Price was blessed to have been in the care of these individuals and the organizations they represent for which her family is grateful.
