Bridgewater Sarah M. Brown 83, died March 24, 2013. Sarah was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, formerly of Somerville area before recently moving to Bridgewater in 2012. In her early years, Sarah worked for the Pennsylvania Telephone Company and was known as operator number nine. She volunteered for many years for the Salvation Army during the holidays. She was a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting for her family and friends and was also known and loved as NAN. She loved to read and play cards, and especially enjoyed listening to all different kinds of music. She will be sadly missed by all. She is predeceased by her husband Charles, two brothers Eugene and Robert Chapman and a grandson Ernie Ullmann. Surviving are her children, Donna Bateman and her husband Douglas, Elizabeth Villano, Charles Brown and his wife June, Barbara Laggini, George Brown and his wife Lucretia and Angela Kelly and her husband Shawn, sister Dorothy Degonish and 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 North Gaston Ave. Somerville.
