In Loving Memory
Sarah Lynn Matucha was the first of eight children born to George and Mary Matucha. Growing up everyone said that Sarah didn't need dolls to play with because she had the real thing. Sarah grew up on the family farm five miles north of Burke. She graduated from the Burke Public School system in 1993.
Sarah had a special talent of caring for people. She was a Certified Nurses Aide for over 15 years. Sarah also did home daycare for families in the area. Those kids all held a special place in Sarah's heart. Sarah had a dream of becoming a nurse, but that all changed somewhat after her marriage in 2008 to Bracken J. Sheldon. She was devoted to helping people find their faith along with her husband.
One of Sarah's greatest joys was family, especially her nieces and nephews, Olivia, Dani, Katie, Gracie, Maggie, Christopher, and Titus. No matter what—they were always a topic of conversation. She wanted her own family and was so close to adopting.
Sarah's life ended too soon, she was so young. Greeting her at heaven's gate are her father George Gene Matucha, her young brother Dan Michael Matucha, and both her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Those left behind, awaiting the day when we will all be reunited are her husband, Bracken Sheldon and their dog, Cooper; mother, Mary M. Matucha; brother, George (Nylda) Matucha & family; sisters, Kristie (Shawn Carlson) Matucha & family, Amy (Toby) Snyder, Erin Matucha, Ann Matucha, and Lorna (Andy) Duryea & family.
Also left mourning her departure was a host of family and friends. She had a large number of friends too long to list. She touched many, many lives with her caring heart and beautiful smile.

A memorial service for Sarah Lynn Matucha Sheldon, 37, was held Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Burke Civic Center in Burke, SD with Pastor Russ Grim officiating.
Music was "On Eagle's Wings" and "Angels Among Us." A video tribute was also played.
Brenda Lindwurm, Larea Matucha, and Anna Matucha were in charge of registration.
Casket Bearers for the service in Kearney were George Matucha, Lance Matucha, Loris Matucha, Toby Snyder, Andy Duryea, and Shawn Carlson.
Honorary Pallbearers were the members of the Burke High School Class of 1993.
