Sarah R. (Tringali) Smith, age 72, died peacefully at her home in Plymouth on August 22, 2010. She was the devoted wife of Jack Crawford Smith. Born in Boston, MA, on July 4, 1938, she was daughter of the late Sebastian and Rosaria (Tringali) Tringali. She was educated in Boston and was a graduate of Roslindale Girls School. For many years Mrs. Smith was co-proprietor with her husband of the Currier’s Restaurant in Plymouth Center. Following her retirement at age 62, Mrs. Smith continued to work part-time at Pebbles Restaurant on Plymouth Waterfront. She collected coins and anonymously donated them annually to the Salvation Army. She held her family dear to her heart and cherished her time spent with them. Mrs. Smith enjoyed taking trips to Walmart where she made friends with the many lives she touched. Besides leaving her husband, Sarah was the loving mother of six; Jack C. Smith, Jr. of Plymouth, David J. Smith and his wife Michelle of Kingston, Donna MacPherson and her husband W. Scott of Alexandria Bay, NY, Janet Catton and her husband Stephen of Plymouth, Catherine Loesher and her husband James Jr. of Carver and Gwendolyn Smith of Provincetown. She was the beloved sister of Gaetano Tringali of Kingston, Salvo Tringali of Miami, FL, Joseph Tringali of Plymouth and Marie Santoro of Miami, FL. She was the cherished grandmother of 12. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 313 Court St., Plymouth, MA Calling Hours omitted at the family’s request. Cremation will take place in Vine Hills Crematory, Plymouth. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Mary’s Church or the Salvation Army.
