Scott Edward Abel February 2, 1984 – November 13, 2011 Scott Abel of China Spring went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, November 13, 2011. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 17th, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Jim Menke officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 16th, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Scott was born February 2, 1984, in Waco to Mike and Lisa Abel. He attended Midway schools, where he played basketball and participated in the band, graduating in 2002. Scott graduated from Baylor University with a BBA in Management in 2005. He began working for Wells Fargo Bank in 2002 as a college student and was currently a business relationship manager there. Scott married the love of his life, Lindsey Joy Carroll, on December 18, 2004. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Presley Paige Abel, on April 22, 2010. His greatest joy was being a good husband and father to them. He was an exceptional son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin, making every gathering better by his presence. Scott was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving in many areas of Trinity's ministry, but especially youth and music. He was an enthusiastic Baylor sports fan, looking forward to the upcoming basketball season to watch the "best ever" BU basketball team. Other passions in his life were contemporary Christian music (especially Gungor and David Crowder Band), tactical firearms, and SureFire flashlights. Scott was also involved in the community through Leadership Waco, the Heart of Texas Rodeo Committee, Baylor-Waco Foundation, and Greater Waco Area Chamber of Commerce. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ben Glaser. He is survived by his parents, Mike and Lisa; his wife, Lindsey; his precious daughter, Presley; his sister, Allison; grandparents, Erwin and Margaret Abel and Joyce Glaser; father- and mother- in law, Grant and Janelle Carroll; brothers-in-law, Jeremy, Jerad & Justin and their families; aunts and uncles, Sheryl and Jody Kuehl, and Kathy and Jerry Bayer; seven cousins and their families; and many, many loving friends. Pallbearers will be Matt Browning, Justin Carroll, Jeff Kyle, Andrew Kuehl, Ben Johnson, Justin Richards. Honorary pallbearers will be cousins: Jerome Bayer, Jonathan Bayer, Jordan Bayer, Aaron Kuehl, Nathan Kuehl and Andy Smithwick; and brothers-in-law: Jeremy Carroll and Jerad Carroll. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Memorial Fund for Scott Abel fbo Presley Abel: Wells Fargo Bank c/o Beth Austin, P. O. Box 2626, Waco, TX 76702. The family appreciates all the prayers and kindness shown to us during these difficult days. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our "Memorial Guestbook" at www.WilkirsonHatchBailey.com.
