Scott William Richardson, 35, passed away on January 21, 2013. He was born on May 7, 1977 in San Diego, CA to William Richardson and Lauren Daane Mendes.
Scott grew up in Grand Haven, Michigan and graduated from Grand Haven High School. He was on the swim team and played water polo. After high school he attended Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI and graduated with a degree in finance. He loved water polo and was on the team during his college years. He was a Spartan fan as green as they come, attending innumerable games and decorating an entire room in his home with memoriabilia of his alma mater.
Scott began his career in banking at Old Kent Bank in downtown Holland, MI. For the past 6 years he worked for Sun Trust Bank in Fort Myers, FL as Vice President in Commercial Lending. He loved his career by combining an outgoing social personality with a brilliant mind to help others and support his family.
Scott married the love of his life and his best friend, Marta Costa Machado, from Salvador, Brazil. They had two beautiful daughters together, Maya (7), and Sophia (6). Forever changed since their birth, Scott was an amazing father and ultimate family man dedicating every day to his wife and children. He protected, supported and cared for them infusing his generous soul and sense of humor into them and always bringing a smile to their faces.
Scott was loved by all who knew him. He enriched every gathering with laughter and love always making new friends and connecting with old ones. Scott naturally bonded four generations of family together, bringing his exuberance to all family occasions. He serves as a model of life often advising and inspiring those he touched to succeed.
