Sharon Brumbaugh Rainey, 64, passed away Monday, February 8, 2010 at home. Born in Ft. Wayne, Sharon was a 1964 graduate of North Side and retired from Ft. Wayne Community Schools and the Journal Gazette. She was a devoted grandmother and loved the people she had worked with. She is survived by her husband Maurice "Moe" Rainey; sons, Matthew (Karen) Brumbaugh and Mark (Laurie) Brumbaugh step-daughter, Shane (Mike) Geiger of Columbia City, and step-son, Shaun Rainey; grandchildren Jensen, Kendall and Paul Brumbaugh, Candice, Chance and Ciera Geiger, and Casey Rainey; brother James Butz and sister, Linda (Pat) Dane. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents William and Delores Butz. Service is 10:30 AM, Fri. at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. with calling one hour prior. Calling also at the funeral home on Thur. from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
