Guilford- Sharon V. Boardman, 63, a resident of Richton, Mississippi, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday morning, June 21, 2011 at the home of her daughter Michelle Frehsee on Guilford Center Road. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born in Murray, Kentucky on March 26, 1948 the daughter of J.M. and Ernestine (Wright) Venable. She was raised and educated in Murray and was a graduate of Calloway County High School, Class of 1966. She went on to attend Murray State University where she received her B.A in Education and later earning her Masters in Special Education. Sharon taught school for 42 years with her last position at Greene County High School in Mississippi. She was a well liked and respected teacher who took great interest in her students. Steadfast in her walk of faith, she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Petal, Mississippi. Of her leisure time activities she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and time shared with her family. She also loved music and was an accomplished pianist. On May 26, 1973 in Sikeston, Missouri she was married to Paul David Boardman who survives. Besides her husband of 38 years she leaves two daughters, Michelle Frehsee of Guilford and Rachael Malone of Jackson, Mississippi, one son, David Addison Boardman of Sikeston, one sister, Carolyn Pool of Murray, Kentucky and two grandchildren, Addison and Eliza. Additionally she is survived by several nieces and nephews. Graveside committal services in celebration of her life will be conducted Friday at 11:00 A.M. in Guilford Center Cemetery with Pastor Terrell Stringer of Calvary Baptist Church and pastor Steve McClelland of West Brattleboro Baptist Church officiating. There are no calling hours at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Sharon's name may be made to a special fund established to help defray her medical expenses. Checks can be made out to, Michelle Frehsee or Rachael Malone in memory of Sharon Boardman. The contributions should be mailed to Brattleboro Savings and Loan, 221 Main Street, Brattleboro, Vermont 05301.
