Mr. Shawn Joseph Balfantz , 34 years old of Maurepas, Louisiana, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012.
He was born on Sunday, December 4, 1977, in Baton Rouge, son of Ricky and Vickie Trabeau Balfantz.
He was employee at United Rentals Trench Safety. Shawn loved fishing and going to the races. He also enjoyed cooking outdoors with his family and he was a huge LSU Football fan. Shawn was a loving son, brother, grandson, Godfather, and friend who will be missed dearly by all those who knew him.
Surviving are his parents, Ricky and Vickie Trabeau Balfantz; sister, Jessica Balfantz Ryan and her husband Kent; maternal grandmother, Myrtis Trabeau; paran, Ferrel Trabeau; nannie, Tammy Kundler; special uncle, Nicky Balfantz, Godchild, James Ernest, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Felman Trabeau, paternal grandparents, Chester and Maude Duplessie Balfantz, best friend, James Peter Lambert.
The pall bearers for the service will be Kevin Picou, Jake Balfantz, Kade Johnson, Daniel Boyle, Darren Anderson, and Kenny Hardy. Honorary pall bearers will be Ferrel Trabeau, and Kolt and Kade Kindler.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula and on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Whitehall from 8:30 am until the service begin at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow in the Maurepas Cemetery.
