Sherman J. Haack was at peace with his Maker and with himself when he passed away on April 8, 2011. Sherm was born to Mabel and Sherman W. Haack in Idaho Falls, Idaho on June 10, 1931. He attended schools there until he was drafted into the US Army during the Korean conflict. Sherm married Barbara Donica in 1954 and was blessed with a daughter Barbara Dawn Haack. He moved to Salt Lake to attend the University of Utah. He then worked at Sperry Univac, which later became, Unisys, where he retired after 29 years. During this time, Sherm divorced Bobbi and later married Linda Klingle after several years of marriage they too divorced. His main activities were centered on playing chess and spending time at the senior center and taking trips to Las Vegas to visit family there. Sherm is survived by his daughter Barbara Reese and her two children CJ and Amanda; his nieces Terry Bunnell and Lora Minson and their children. Sherm has requested that his remains be cremated and there be no public memorial to be held.
