Sherman L. Bryant, also known as "Bill" was born on May 15, 1935 in Saint Louis, Missouri. Sherman graduated from Sumner High School in 1953 and attended Illinois State. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army. Sherman retired from Magna Visual as a Supervisor and Traffic Director. As a devoted Christian Sherman actively served at New Sunny Mount since 1949. He was a man of few words, but highly respected. His presence and character spoke volumes. He often stated "The most successful people in life are those that can make the necessary changes and adapt to their environment." He departed this life on December 28, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Eva Bryant, his wife, Melveree D. Bryant, son, Darryl Bryant and brothers, Earl and Lee Bryant. He leaves to cherish his memories: four sons, Sherman Bryant II, Andre Bryant, Orlanda (Helen) Bryant and Jermaine Perry; two daughters, Tajuana D. Perry and Cheryl L. Whitaker; one sister, Vernell Williams; former wife, Maxine Bryant; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
