Shirley A. Shewman, 85, of Stevensville, MI, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to El Camino Hospital Foundation, 2400 Grant Road, Mountain View, CA 94040. Those wishing to sign Shirley's Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Shirley was born on May 20, 1926, in Ann Arbor, MI to Adger and Onnolee M. (Taylor) Wall. She grew up near Detroit and attended college at Southern Seminary Virginia School before transferring to Michigan State. However, her 64 years with husband Bob, turned her into an enthusiastic Michigan fan.
Shirley met Bob in Ann Arbor where they married and started a family before moving to Benton Harbor. Shirley is survived by husband Robert, her children, Dan of Las Vegas, NV, Ailene of Tucson, AZ, Barbara of Saratoga, CA, her grandsons, Samuel and Joseph, her brother, Donald, and many nieces and nephews. She was full of joy with an unquenchable spirit. Her family and friends cannot imagine a world without this loving, generous, amazing woman.
