Shirley A. Cottrell Virginia Beach- Shirley Anne Cottrell, 75, passed away peacefully March 8, 2011. She was born in Bedford, VA. October 28, 1935. Survivors include one brother, Nelson Cottrell, one sister, Dorothy Pipkin, numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat Topaz. Also left to cherish her life is her best friend Norma Barbosa and Nancy Hobbs, who was like a daughter to her. There will be a celebration of life at 1:30 p.m. Saturday March 19 at Bayside Presbyterian Church 1400 Ewell Road in Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the SPCA of Norfolk. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cremate.org.
