Shirley Jeanne Shaw, 84, of the Atria, passed away February 18, 2011 in her home. A native of Norfolk, VA, and longtime resident of Virginia Beach, VA, she was the daughter of the late John and Mava Richards, and the widow of Leslie G. Shaw. During her career she had done administrative work with Norfolk General Hospital, spent two years in Japan as a missionary, various volunteer work including CHKD, and was a cornerstone of Wave Riding Vehicles for over 20 years. She is survived by her two sons, Leslie G. "Les" Shaw, Jr. and his wife Joan, as well as Michael Shaw; five grandchildren, Leslie G. III, Carley, Heather, Rachel and Justin; and numerous great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, John Richards. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Mrs. Shaw will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
