Sophia Pace
Pickens - Our dear mother and grandmother, Sophia Mae Coleman Pace, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 25th, 2011 at Baptist Easley Hospital. She was the wife of 68 years to Joseph Osben Pace, formerly of Pickens.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Rev. Joe (Louise) Pace, Paul C. Pace, Christopher Pace, Michael (Tiffany) Pace, and one daughter, Cheryl (Daniel) Braswell. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great- grandchild. She is also survived by one brother, James Coleman, and three sisters, Wilma Gillespie, Ruth Morris, and Betty Bowie.
Mrs. Pace was preceded in death by her parents Fred G. and Bertha McKinney Coleman.
She was a member of Midway Baptist Church, where she played the organ for over twenty years. She was a member of the Pickens chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she also played piano for many years.
Celebration services will be: visitation from 12:30-2:00 pm Sunday, November 27, 2011, with service to follow in the chapel at Dillard Funeral Home. The family will gather at the home.
