Sophie Christian Jones, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2011. Born in Nu Mine, PA, she was the widow of Raymond Arthur Christian and Albert Jones. Sophie was retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She formerly attended North Hills Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Sophie is survived by her two daughters, Donna Rae Irwin of Fredericksburg, VA and Deborah R. Christian of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 12 to 1 p.m. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ALS Society or the charity of one's choice.
