Mr. Stanley J. Pruszko, 79, of 209 Wesley Drive, Unit C, Waynesboro, and formerly of 223 Geiser Ave., Waynesboro, died at 2:45 P.M., Monday, October 18, 2011, in the Waynesboro Hospital. Born November 10, 1931 in Glassport, PA, he was the son of the late Stanley C. and Margaret I. Pruszko. He lived his early life in the Glassport area. He was a graduate of Glassport High School and later graduated from Duquesne University in 1953 with a degree in Pharmacy. Following graduation, he served with the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953-1955. Mr. Pruszko was a pharmacist at Savage Family Pharmacy from 1972 until his retirement in 2001. During this time he always assisted at Carl's Drug Store, Greencastle. He attended services at the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, where he was a member of the Fidelis Home Builders Class. He was also a member of Owl's Club, Eagles Club, Inc., Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, William Max McLaughlin V.F.W. Post #695, all of Waynesboro, and the National AARP. Mr. Pruszko enjoyed bowling, reading, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Saundra R. (Baker), Pruszko, who he married in 1985; three children, Fran Hatfield and her huband Bud, of Fairbanks, AK, Penny Quigley and her husband Jeremy, of Mechanicsburg, PA, and S. Joseph Pruszko of Dubois, PA; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mary McLinden and Helen Gouker, both of Glassport, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 21, 2011, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Amy Messler officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Friday afternoon, in the funeral home.
