Mrs. Stella L. Romo of Stockton passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the age of 95. A native of Carrizozo, New Mexico, she was born to Benjamin and Francisca Lujan on February 13, 1916. Mrs. Romo and her husband, Felix, moved to Pittsburg, California in 1934. She resided there for sixty-one years before moving to Stockton in 1995. She is survived by her son, Felix Romo, and his wife, Alice, a daughter, Toni Feeney, and her husband, Brian, daughter-in-law, Anna Romo, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren. A sister, Frances Contreras and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. Her husband, Felix, and a son, Eric, precede her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius of Antioch, 3351 Contra Loma Boulevard, Antioch, California. Recitation of the Rosary will be Sunday, September 18, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California Street, Stockton, California.
Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel.
Committal will follow Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery, 2200 E. 18th Street, Antioch, California.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Mary's Dining Hall or Hospice of San Joaquin County.
