Stephen J. Fukes, II, age 35, passed away March 26, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was born May 5, 1976, in New Hartford, the son of Stephen J. and Sandra Bauer Fukes. Steve was educated at Whitesboro High School, Salisbury Prep School, R.P.I., and R.I.T. He was formerly married to Kristy Phelan. Mr. Fukes was employed in pharmaceutical sales, and currently with his family's business, George's Farm Products. A gifted athlete, Steve excelled in Hockey, where he won numerous awards throughout his years playing a sport he loved. He also enjoyed outdoor sports, particularly playing a round of Golf with friends. Steve always valued his many friendships and will be remembered for his outgoing personality and contagious smile. His laughter and charisma will be deeply missed. He is survived by his mother, Sandie; his sister, Wende Warne; his brother, Jim Paine; grandfather, Stephen Fukes; aunts, uncles and their spouses, Carol Mahar, Charline Topor, Sharon and Michael George, Robert and Peg Bauer, and Ronald and Linda Bauer; nieces and nephews, Ashleigh Weeks, Kiera Warne, E.J. Weeks and wife Amanda, and Jeremy Paine; several additional family members; and his canine friend Mac. He was predeceased by his father, Steve; paternal grandmother, Jessica Fukes; and maternal grandparents, Arline and Robert Bauer. There will be a Memorial Service Thursday, 7:00 p.m., at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main Street, Whitesboro. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to a fund to be established in care of the family.
