Stephen Joseph Mattress, 17, of 115 Rockhound Road, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Wake Med. Stephen was born September 19, 1991 in Tampa, FL to Joseph Mattress and Stephanie Saunders Fischer. He was a senior at Knightdale High School and worked for his uncle, Albert Mattress at Atlantic Tire and Service. Stephen had lots of friends and family who will greatly miss him.

Funeral Service: 4:00 pm, Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Faith Baptist Church,
2728 Marks Creek Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 with Reverend Stan Edwards
officiating.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.

Father: Joseph Mattress and friend, Susan A. Latta of Knightdale

Mother: Stephanie Saunders Fischer and husband, David of Knightdale

Brother: Brandon Vernon Holmes of Holly Springs

Paternal Grandparents: Albert Mattress of Wendell
Roswitha K. Clark of Clarksville, VA

Maternal Grandparents: Richard and Sharon Fischer of Knightdale

Stephen was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Coleman and Doreen Saunders.
