Steven Douglas Ware, age 42, died at Markey Cancer Center on May 8, 2004, following a courageous three year battle with cancer. Doug was born November 9, 1961, in Lexington. He was a graduate of The Sayre School and the University of Kentucky and then received his Kentucky CPA license in 1985. Doug had just achieved his 5 year recognition with Tenmast Software of Lexington as a Systems Architect. A member of the Lexington Rotarian Club since 1990, his many other interests included nature photography, bicycling, internet chess, and computer programming. All who knew Doug witnessed his commitment, loyalty, determination, and analytical mind. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jeannie Caroline Taylor, his parents, Ray M. and Susan Ware of Lexington, and his three cats. A graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Nicholasville on Tuesday, May 11 at 2:30 P.M. Doug requested that donations be made to the Markey Cancer Center at the University of Kentucky in lieu of flowers. Friends will gather at the home of Gary and Connie Jennings, 1716 Fairway Drive in Lexington from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Johnson’s Funeral Home, Georgetown, is in charge of arrangements.
