Sullins Stuart Arendall passed away on September 30, 2011. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on June 9, 1940. After graduating from the University of Alabama in 1962, Sullins married John Thomas Arendall, Jr. (Tommy) and moved to Mobile, AL where she pursued an active career in real estate. She was involved in several Charity organizations including, American Cancer Society, Home of Grace, and Village of Springhill, and was a faithful member of Springhill Baptist Church. Sullins was a dear friend to many and a Christian leader whose deep faith always kept her smiling and loving life. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eloise Harris Stuart, father George R. Stuart, Jr. and her brother George R. Stuart, III. She is survived in life by her husband of 46 years, John Thomas Arendall, Jr., a daughter, Sullins Arendall Walls (Trey), a son, John T. Arendall III (Walsh), and her six grandchildren, Kate Sullins Canfield, Wilson Arendall Walls, Stuart Milling Walls, John Thomas Arendall IV, William Samford Arendall, and Margaret Walsh Arendall. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Ellen Milling Arendall, father-in-law, John T. Arendall, Sr., brother–in-law, Robert James Arendall, and sister-in-law, Rosalind Sirmon Arendall, and their children- Robert James Arendall, Jr. (Emily) and Lacy Arendall Radcliff (Bobby), nieces, Sullins Stuart Phelan (Brad) and Crawford Stuart Bumgarner (Stephen) in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Sullins enjoyed many activities, including summer trips to North Carolina, Alabama football, playing bridge and spending time on Mobile Bay. Most of all, though, Sullins loved spending time with her family and friends. Her gentle Christian spirit enabled her to be a compassionate mentor and loving wife and mother, and she will be missed by all. As a dear friend once said, "she will shine on as everlasting light." A private family burial will be held at Pine Crest. The memorial service will be held at Springhill Baptist Church on Monday, October 3, 2011 at noon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Home of Grace, 394 Aldock Rd., Eight Mile, AL 36613.
