Mrs. Susan Alameda (Stockbridge) Rochon, a longtime resident of Melrose, at the age of 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the Greenwood Nursing Center in Wakefield.

Susan was born on February 17, 1938 in Boston, the daughter of the late David L. Stockbridge and Elizabeth (Butler) Stockbridge.

Mrs. Rochon graduated from the Chandler Secretarial School in Boston. She settled in Melrose with her late husband, Albert, in 1961 and raised their family of two children. She worked for 25 years in the Melrose medical office of Dr. Alfano as a secretary. Mrs. Rochon enjoyed being a member of the Melrose Emblem Club. For many years, she was also a parishioner at Most Blessed Sacrament Church where she taught CCD.

Susan was the beloved wife of the late Albert J. Rochon with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Michelle Rochon-Sorrenti of Wakefield and David A. Rochon of Melrose. Loving grandmother of Christopher M. Sorrenti and Nicholas M. Sorrenti both of Wakefield.

Private services will be held. Arrangements by the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose.
