Susan Helena (Jarvi) Albee age 58 of Maynard formerly of Stow passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Massachusetts General Hospital following a long courageous battle with leukemia. She was the wife of Robert Albee of Maynard. Born in Concord on December 30, 1951 she was the daughter of the late Eero and Irene (Pekkala) Jarvi. Mrs. Albee graduated from Leominster High School and then moved to Stow where she lived for many years prior to residing in Maynard. Mrs. Albee worked as a dietician for several local schools and nursing homes including Walden Rehabilitation Center, Whitney Homestead, Bolton Manor as well as the Town of Concord and Stow public schools. An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, she enjoyed many social gatherings at local establishments to play Keno, cards and horseshoes. Susan liked to spend her summers vacationing on Cape Cod beaches along with her family and friends. Susan was loved for her sense of humor, ability to care unconditionally and most importantly her courage. Besides her husband she is survived by her two daughters, Kim Smith of Newnan, GA and Kathy Pileeki of Maynard, two stepsons Bryan Albee of Mashpee and Robert Albee of CO. and five grandchildren. Also survived by three brothers, Eero Jarvi of Belmont, NH, Eugene and Terry Jarvi both of Key West FL as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Visiting hours Thursday, Sept. 9 from 3-7 p.m. in the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord St., Maynard. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, Sept. 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery, Parker St. and Great Road, Maynard.
