Susan Kay Wickens, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many, passed away, Monday, November 1, 2010, at Methodist Hospital, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Sue was born on April 10, 1954, to Richard G. Listenberger and Beverly (Bowles) Serf-Buchert. She had been a Plymouth resident all of her life. Sue graduated from Plymouth High School in the Class of 1972. She received her Bachelor's Degree from I.U.S.B. in 1976. On February 10, 1973, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Plymouth, Sue married her high school sweetheart, Keith S. Wickens. They had a happy and loving relationship for 37 years. To their marriage, four beautiful children were born; Melissa Kay, Kristin Lynn, Kyle Alan, and Elizabeth Renee. Sue was a dedicated employee of Arrow Pest Control, celebrating 30 years of service, in February of this year. She was a part-time employee of Red D Mart, and was the bookkeeper for King Gyro's Restaurant. She had been an ambitious hard worker all of her life. In more recent years, exercise had become a serious part of her busy schedule. She had lost a tremendous amount of weight, leaving her in the best physical condition of her life. She was a very active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, serving as their treasurer for 13 years. She also volunteered many hours, for the Plymouth Community Swim Club, which all four of her children were members. The Plymouth Sharks Swimming Team, was a big part of their family's lives. Her husband, Keith, was a referee and Sue was the team's secretary for 10 years. She attended every practice and every swim meet. Sue is survived by her husband, Keith Wickens; their daughters, Melissa Kay Wickens of Cleveland, Ohio, Kristin Lynn Wickens (fiancée Eric Quintana) and their daughter Madelynn Grace Quintana of Indianapolis, and Elizabeth Renee Wickens at home; their son, Kyle Alan Wickens of Indianapolis; her mother and step-father, Beverly Serf-Buchert and Earl Buchert; her sisters, Dr. Lynn (Neil) Bemenderfer and their children Joan, Tom, and Ted, of Indianapolis, Ann (Kent) Janes and their children Zach, Matt, and Kate, of Springfield, Illinois, and Gina Serf of Indianapolis; her brother, Brad Alan (Patty) Serf and their children Tom and Will of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Listenberger; her devoted step-father, Frank Serf; her loving grandparents, Tom and Adeline Bowles; her father and mother-in-law, John and Dorothy Wickens; and her uncle, Henry "J. R." Spier. Sue, one more time, gave of herself. She donated her organs to help save and better the lives of others.
